The shuttle picked us up around 9am , packed with sleeping bags, some water and warm clothes we drove till the entrance of the mountain trekking.
Group contained 11 people and two tour guides , one 16 years old and older 22 years old. Everyone with great moods and high expectations started to walk up the hill. The hike was not easy.
With two or three stops we hiked for 5 hours till the base camp (3600 meters above the sea level) just on the level to see #volcanoacatenango eruptions. That without words was vivid moment.
Walking up the hill itself was very challenging and demanding. It made me realised in which weak form I am. Once the air was thicker it was harder to breath for me. Seeing so many people coming back , my brain was trying to convince me to do the same. It was determination versus comfort and giving up.
Once we camped , our tour guides lighted the 🔥. The older one said that he has walked this volcano for 11, years, two times weekly with the tours 🤯😲. We got some wine , hot chocolate made from original cacao without sugar and milk - it was delicious 😋😋😋. After dinner we went to sleep to the enormous tent that contains place for 8 people. We were told that we were going to be woken up at 3:45 just to make it for the sunrise at the peak of the mountain.
Some people were snoring , some wasn't able to sleep because of the cold (around 0-4 degrees) ❄️❄️❄️. We woke up , and started hiking the peak. Every two steps I had to stop and take few deep breaths before walk again. Got there as a last one , but just before the 🌞 rise to enjoy it at 3975 meters above the sea level ! So proud and happy to overcome my own limits and made it to the TOP ! 👊🙌😁🌋🇸🇲
