[How Do You Respond When People Share Good News?]
Imagine your friend tells you that he/she received a promotion at work. In building rapport and relational sales, small talks and on-the-spot responses are very hard to be crafted, else the conversation would rigid or too stiff. There are generally 4 ways in which you can respond:
1⃣ Active Constructive Responding
Authentic, enthusiastic & supportive by responding, "Great news! I knew you can do it. How do you feel?"
2⃣ Active Destructive Responding
Pointing out the negative like, "Sighhh. It sounds stressful." This could deliver an unconscious signal that you are sounding sarcastic.
3⃣ Passive Constructive Responding
Responding with low like, "Oh cool, that's nice...good for you." This shows lack of interest.
4⃣ Passive Destructive Responding
Ignoring your friend and you might say, "Okay. Are you ready for lunch?" This shows totally no interest and engagement.
